A great example of this is our work in London. ONE’s “Take One City” feature showcases how a collaborative community of designers, engineers and scientists, as well as cost and project managers, offers a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to help prepare the U.K. capital city for its moment in the global spotlight as the host of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as the area’s future development.

In the United States, we have leveraged AECOM’s flexibility and adaptability in our work helping create New York City’s landmark Second Avenue Subway project. With roots dating back to 1929, this new subway will serve Manhattan’s East Side when it opens for business in 2016. Take a look at the timeline of our involvement and achievements on this mammoth transit initiative. Time and time again, our creativity and agility were tapped on this project, which is being built in one of the most densely populated and challenging environments in the world to better the mobility of residents, commuters and visitors.

On the other side of the globe, AECOM is providing stellar service to our government and private sector clients in two major Southeast Asia cities — Bangkok, Thailand, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our work developing innovative plans to transform life along two area rivers, the Chao Phraya River in Thailand and the Klang River in Malaysia, will revitalize the communities that they flow through and improve the quality of life of local residents.

AECOM’s efforts to build sustainable communities for future generations in the United Arab Emirates is highlighted in integrated, multidisciplinary projects, like the Zone K master plan in Abu Dhabi, which is providing us an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in that country, and to demonstrate our integrity and sincerity in the approach being applied — a strategic plan that pays careful attention both to responsible development and to the region’s traditions and culture.

I’ve touched on just a few of the fascinating projects that are highlighted in this edition of ONE. As you explore this issue and watch its videos, you’ll likely note that each and every endeavor is made possible by our unwavering commitment to excellence in all that we do.
